Chidambaram Academy of Performing Arts

Chitra Visweswaran & R Visweswaran established Chidambaram Academy of Performing Arts in 1974, introducing a new holistic vision and approach to dance training. Four generations of dancers, teachers, musicians, choreographers and researchers, three Sangeet Natak Akademi Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar awardees, Fulbright Fellows and Scholars, several Ministry of Culture and CCRT scholars and established performers have been produced in this institution.
The professional performing repertory of the institution, Chidambaram Dance Company has performed extensively in India and abroad.
