Smt. Jothi Venkatesan is a student of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Late Sri. D. K. Jayaraman and was raised in Chennai in a family of carnatic musicians and music lovers. She began singing at a very young age and has won several awards in Carnatic music. She has given numerous music concerts in India, Canada and US.
Smt. Jothi is currently pursuing her passion in carnatic music by performing and teaching in Houston. Her goal is to promote Carnatic music and Bhakthi among the younger generation and motivate them to appreciate the nuances by understanding the underlying concepts.
Smt. Jothi has organized and performed at several Carnatic music programs in Houston for both adults and kids, trained them in thematic presentations of:
– Muthuswamy Dikshadar, Tiruppavai, Ashtapadi at KKSF events
– SDPA1 and SDPA2 at KKSF
– Kamalamba Navavarnams for SVBF
– Kanda sashti program for Maarga
– Bharathiar Day for Bharathi Kalai Mandram
