Dipak ChakrabortyDipak Chakraborty, born in a family of music lovers. His taalim has flourished under the guidance of late. Sri Ranjit Barua anf finally came in contact with Ustad Sabir Khan. He belongs to great Farrukhabad Gharana and also captured the style of other Gharanas in the Indian tabla tradition. He performed in India and abroad, he accompanied sucessfully with several top graded artiste such as Late Pandit V.G Jog, Pandit Kartick Kumar, Pt. Goverdhan Mishra, Pt. Kamal Mullick, Ustad Saheed Jafar Khan, Pt. Atul Uppadhya, Ustad Shakir Khan, Pt. Ashim Chowdhury, Baul Samrat Purna Das and many others. He played tabla solo in Kolkata Doordarshan and is a musical interviwer and artiste of All India Radio.
He is an examiner and instructor in various Universities and Boards. He is also an outstanding composer for Dance and Music, his famous book “Taali theke Taal” was published in Kolkata Book fair in 2001. He is the secretary of Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan KOlkata and the principle of Jagacha AIkatan International Institute of Music. He is an empaneled artiste for ICCR from 2004. He is involved with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Govt. of India, Weat Bengal State Music Academy, Howrah District Information Center. He is a member of Kendriya Vidayalay Monitoring Committee since 2006. He has been invited from BBC World Service London for an Interview and Demonstration Program on 2009.
